Wow, one year later I’d love to start this up again.
I know I sucked and went away for ever. But I finally am ready to be back to this for good and I see very little writing and discussions like this one on Tumblr.

i would never settle in the middle of this country.
i need mountains or the knowledge that the ocean is at most only a 5 hour drive away
people in the center just settle. they marry their true love who happens to be there.
people on the coasts have adventures, they don’t settle, they search and search for their true love and even when they don’t find them they at least had the adventure. same with any other country the landscape is everything, if you live in a bland area you will be bland, if you live in a human jungle your life will be beautiful caos.

Last night was very much unexpectedly dreamy. In all my years of living on the shore I’ve never fallen asleep with the infinite dark sky as my ceiling and the crashing waves as my lullaby, and my wild cough aside, it was perfect. I think what added to the blissful night were the laughter and song of people I still do not yet know (fully) but have come to love from a secret place in my heart. And the shooting stars didn’t hurt either. Oh, it was the first time I saw a shooting star.
Everything, from the dark outlines of people dancing and laughing against the faint yet live lights of NYC to gathering warmth in heaps of sleeping bags and sand and tangled hair and arms and feet… made me marvel at the goodness of God. How beautifully He painted the night for us.
Much too beautiful not to post.

- La Mollie and the King of Tears by Arturo Islas
I recently read this for school, and it is a book that really makes you think. The voice that it is written in is so vivid and unique (I had an assignment to write in the style of it for class and it was amazing), and the point of view is fantastically poignant.
- Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan
People may know this from the movie, but the book is way better. Proof that books don’t have to be antique to have insanely beautiful language. I’ve read it so many times and underlined it almost to death.
- Behind the Scenes at the Museum by Kate Atkinson
Read this for a school project. Really unique format as the story is told from the main characters point of view, starting at her conception. It also goes into the lives of the women in past generations of her family. Just such an interesting way of telling a story.
- I Was Told There’d Be Cake by Sloane Crosley
A collection of personal essays that are witty and entertaining. I am fascinated my memoir, I think it is an amazing skill to be able to make everyday life into something magic and worth reading.
- Bad Kitty by Michele Jaffe
It may be written for younger people (I did first read it quite a while ago) but, this book is just plain funny. I laugh out loud when reading it every time.

- Looking For Alaska by John Green
This book is just the perfect spin of emotions and plain-all-out gorgeous writing. It’s funny enough to make you laugh aloud, sad enough to make you cry, and beautiful enough to keep you up at night. Not to be dramatic, but it’ll change your life.
- The Book of Lost Things by John Connolly
I am a romance-y reader, I admit. But this is the one book made for absolutely everyone. The writing is the most gorgeous I’ve ever read, the tale sucks you in and wraps you up. It’s a treasure chest for fantasy lovers, and a hundred dollar bill on the street for all you other readers. It’s lovely, enchanting, haunting, sad, and just beautiful. And for the first time in my life, I was actually scared to go to sleep because of this book.
- The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
This book reminds you of the power real words have. Written in letters, it’s haunting in it’s reality. Because you feel dedicated to this boy, because you feel he is actually writing to you hoping that you will listen, that’s the part that keeps you up until 3 a.m. reading.
- Let the Right One In by John Ajvide Lindqvist
It’s a chilling tale of a childhood romance between a bullied boy and a centuries old vampire trapped in a child’s body. It’s long, and it’ll keep you up many a night, but it’s worth it. It’s very sweet (so sweet it actually made me feel lonely, it made me long for someone), rich with detail, but it’s also one for the horror lovers. There are a lot of story lines and characters, and it’s very rewarding to see them all merge into one.
- Tithe by Holly Black
I’ve been talking romance all along here, but this is it. This is probably my favorite book of all time. I read it three years ago, and I’ve read it every year since. The story changes every time I read it, and as I get older, I love it more. It’s a gorgeously written book that I just literally can’t get enough of. I hope you love it as much as I do (hopefully even more, if that’s possible).
